15U-16U attack - midfield to final third
CHOOSE A PRINCIPLE
Switch Point of Attack to Go Forward
Similary to the build-up play, the purpose of switching the point of attack when penetrating is to attract defenders around the ball and pull them away from the opposite side of the field. By doing this, you leave a player open or with minimal cover on the weak side with an opportunity to get behind the back line.
- Notes for video: Notice this can be the switch can be executed with one long aerial pass, or a combination of short quick passes. What's important is the switch should be done with speed.
