U.S. Youth Soccer is the largest member of the United States Soccer Federation and the governing body of youth soccer in the United States. U.S. Youth Soccer is a nonprofit and educational organization whose mission is to foster the physical, mental, and emotional growth and development of America’s youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition. In continuing to grow the game, we would like to show statistics related to the ever-changing soccer landscape.
-More than 3,000,000 players participate in United States Youth Soccer
-More than 500,00 volunteers and administrators contribute to U.S. Youth Soccer
-More than 300,000 coaches volunteer for U.S. Youth Soccer with most being volunteers
-Men make up 52% of coaches with women making up 48%
-The median player age is 11.5 years old
-There are 6,000 U.S. Youth Soccer Clubs participating in state-sanctioned leagues
-Between 1,200 and 1,500 tournaments take place each year
-95,000 registered referees officiate games for youth soccer
-There are 55 Member State Associations
-37% of players are under 10 years old
-48% of players are between 10 and 14 years old
-12% of players are 15-17 years old
-3% of players are 18-19 years old
-The U.S. Youth Soccer has more participants than Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Little League, AYSO, and Pop Warner Football
