This camp will focus on improving the individual players’ ability to play a specific position(s) on the field. Players will be grouped based on their position as defender, midfielder, or striker. Each position will have a specific skill set for improvement each day. The curriculum will coincide with CRYSC Player Development Plan and methodology.
Defending:
Players will learn the basics of defending first. The curriculum will focus on 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 defending concepts, appropriate tackling techniques, playing out of the back and much more.
Finishing:
This Camp focuses on an area most players love to take part in but at times is the least addressed technical area of the game – finishing. Whether you are a striker, midfielder or defender, this camp will improve your ability to score goals and prepare you for the seasons ahead. Players will work in small group sizes with more intentional repetitions at multiple techniques. Our curriculum will cover a wide variety of striking techniques, mechanics, and movement off the ball with exercises tailored for age groups/levels to challenge each player appropriately.
Finishing Camps focus on:
- Placement shooting
- Receiving/ Set up to strike
- 1v1 fakes and feints
- Runs off the ball in scoring positions
- Back to goal ‘hold up’ play
- Target play/turning to shoot
Midfielder Camp:
For this age group, players will learn the basic traits/skills needed to play in the midfield. Curriculum will focus on passing and receiving patterns/techniques, appropriate decision making and much more.
